To celebrate the first year anniversary of The Gibraltar Digital Skills Academy, we are hosting a fireside chat on developing esports opportunities and an update interview on the first year of the Academy.
Stewart Harrison, one the directors, will be giving an update on the number of initiatives the Academy has pursued aimed both at adults and students, looking at the numbers who have attended, the various interests shown and the new courses for this year. He will also be happy to take comments and ideas on how the Academy can be more in line with Gibraltar’s technology sector.

Gaming is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. A new area which has launched this year is esports and the Academy’s new ‘Digital Athletics Academy’. One of the coaches, commonwealth esports athlete Dean Penfold, will be giving his insight into this fast growing sector and talking about his experiences in representing Gibraltar at an international level and what needs to be done to ensure Gibraltar remains a competitor at the highest levels.
To top this all off with some drinks, food and networking there will also be two retro gaming stations available to attendees; Street Fighter 2 - Super Nintendo & Gran Turismo - Playstation 1.
