Recoil are a new generation of knee protection for the construction industry, which uses a spring-loaded suspension system that reduces pressure on the knee by up to 76%. What once started as a university project is now a business that sells products all around the world.

Vicky Hamilton, a product design engineer, is the founder of Recoil Kneepads. Recoil are a new generation of knee protection for the trades and construction industry, which though a spring-loaded suspension system are scientifically proven to reduce pressure on the knee by up to 76%. 

The product originated in 2013 as a student project at DMEM, at Strathclyde, out of a need identified by Vicky in response to her Dad, a joiner with arthritis, and the inadequacy he noted of existing products on the market. Recoil has revolutionised knee protection, with many customers describing the product as life-changing and saying Recoil has saved them from having to change occupation. Recoil now holds a granted US patent and sells worldwide while maintaining manufacture in Scotland.
