Throughout the month of June we’re celebrating Female Entrepreneurship around the world with #SGWomen Here at Startup Grind Glasgow, we are delighted to be hosting Jo Halliday & Elizabeth Fairley, Co-Founders of the Glasgow-based MedTech startup 'Talking Medicines' to share their entrepreneurial journey so far.
This month we’re celebrating female entrepreneurship around the world with #SGWomen and are delighted to be hosting Jo Halliday & Elizabeth Fairley, Co-Founders of the Glasgow-based MedTech startup 'Talking Medicines'.
Talking Medicines is an award-winning startup that structures the unstructured voice of the patient. It informs pharmaceutical marketing departments on who is really using their medicines and how, and what they really think of their brands. Most recently, Talking Medicines have introduced a COVID-19 tracker to the app, allowing their community to help improve the quality of data we have on the virus.
We'll be discussing the future of MedTech and the changing role between pharma, communities, patients. as well as how Jo & Elizabeth are helping fight the pandemic with data, amplifying the voice of the patient. Check out Jo's recent article in the Scotsman for a deeper dive:

Jo Halliday: Experienced CEO in the health tech and digital space. Early career in global marketing with key roles for flagship brands at Coca-Cola, Grand Met and Jim Beam Brands. Ventured into the start-up world, now with over 20 years leading scaling business’ including Talking Medicines established in 2013. Strong entrepreneurial skills. Completed Entrepreneurship Development Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston 2019. Outside of work enjoys sports & outdoor activities and has successfully completed three international marathons.
Elizabeth Fairley: Recognised entrepreneur with international experience of founding and scaling businesses. Elizabeth has a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Cambridge and BSc (Hons) in Genetics from Aberdeen University. Depth of knowledge that spans commercial, life science, healthcare, bioinformatics and data from working with numerous corporates, academic institutes and running her own consultancy business for over 10 years. Graduated from Babson College, Boston from the Entrepreneurial MBA Leadership Program in 2013. Widely travelled and enjoys the outdoors.
