As Chief Executive of Entrepreneurial Scotland, Sandy is at the forefront of a movement to inspire and develop Scotland's people to build the most entrepreneurial society in the world. Sandy and his team develop world class programmes, manage a fast growing membership network and support of some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurial Scotland provides a unique range of support to ambitious individuals able to boost Scotland’s economic growth.

Through the Foundation, Sandy and Entrepreneurial Scotland have identified and supported Scotland’s next generation of entrepreneurial leaders. With 850 young people having successfully completed Saltire scholarships, delivered in partnership with Scotland’s leading universities and the highly-regarded Saltire Fellowship, a network is growing, with ambitious, highly-talented individuals who have a global mindset.

Earlier in his career he was responsible for the successful startup of Bowie Castlebank Group's online and direct business. A law graduate of Cambridge University, he qualified with Ashurts in London specialising in private equity before joining 3i. In 2000, he won the Chris Hill Prize for best overall MBA student at the University of Strathclyde. Sandy is passionate about Scotland and finding effective ways to help more people develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

Sandy is on the Advisory Boards of The Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, MIT REAP Scotland, Informatics Ventures and The Scottish EDGE Fund, and is on the Board of Social Investment Scotland.
