Fridtjof started his first startup in his teenage years, which eventually became the famous website buidling platform Jimdo. Jimdo is an intuitive CMS that enables anyone to create website, without any coding knowledge. Founded in 2007 and profitable since 2009 without any venture capital, Jimdo now has a passionate team of 170 people in four offices worldwide. The company has managed to scale rapidly whilst remaining bootstrapped, having turned down an eight-figure offer in 2012. Jimdo recently entered the mobile space with Jimdo for iOS, setting new standards in cross-platform website creation.
Fridtjof is the founder responsible for design and product development, he's closely involved with ensuring that the company culture remains flat and lean as its teams grow. He believes that transparency, communication, flexibility and fun help to provide the stability necessary to deal with big changes.
Maintaining work life balance is a key philosophy at Jimdo, and Fridtjof balances his enthusiasm for Jimdo with equal excitement for the outdoors. His love of surfing, paragliding, bike riding and extreme sports means that he never seems to stop. And he's showing no sign of slowing down.
