Truong Nguyen is the Vice President of IDG Ventures Vietnam, the South East Asia base of the global venture capital group under the International Data Group, the world leader in technology research, media, publication and investment. Prior to IDG Ventures, Truong Nguyen managed the Vietnam ICT Cluster, a nationwide network of ICT CEOs, government agencies, think tanks and social institutions to promote the development of ICT industry in Vietnam. Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and operated by Development Alternatives Inc (DAI), the U.S. leading economic development consultancy firm, the ICT Cluster initiative has changed the under-developed ICT industry in Vietnam’s major cities into the “Silicon Valley” of Indochina region. Prior to that, he managed bilateral USA/Vietnam private sector development programs for several industries including ICT, tourism and agriculture for the management consulting firm J. E. Austin Associates, Inc. (JAA). Before JAA, Truong Nguyen was in charge of marketing for various successful FMCG brands for Procter & Gamble (P&G) in Vietnam.
Truong Nguyen earned his M.B.A. in Management Information System & Computer Resource Management from Webster University with honors. Truong Nguyen completed executive post-graduate studies in Leadership at Harvard Business School. He received distinction degrees from Hanoi National Economics University (B.A. in Finance) and from Hanoi University of Laws (LL.B. in Business Law). Truong Nguyen is a member of Vietnam Lawyer Association, Hanoi Bar Association and several ICT & business associations in Vietnam.
