Maura Thompson, Sassy Media Group’s Co-founder and Managing Director, spent 6 years working in the pharmaceutical industry before moving to Hong Kong in 2008 and starting up Sassy in March of 2009. In her pre-Sassy life she specialized in the ‘oh-so-fun world’ of data and analytics as well as marketing projects which led her to gravitate towards the business side of Sassy once the team got large enough to have different departments (there was a time when she wrote several times a week on the website but these days she gladly leaves that to the editorial experts!). Until the end of 2013 Maura was Sassy Media Group’s Sales Director and was responsible for working with businesses to come up with promotional ideas and packages so they can get their brands message to the lovely readers of Sassy Hong Kong and Sassy Mama Hong Kong. These days as Managing Director Maura is responsible for making sure the entire Hong Kong office is running smoothly and meeting strategic goals in addition to working closely with the Managing Director’s of the Sassy businesses in Singapore, Dubai and Australia.
