During Dr. Murphy's career he has experienced numerous successes including a sizable exit upon the sale of his first business Design Live. He currently serves as a full-time Practitioner Faculty of Strategy at the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University and has a new startup he just launched using block-chain technology, LoanBlock. Dr. Murphy is an experienced hands-on technology and innovation executive and entrepreneur that brings over 20 years of repeated success building revenue, and operating and scaling companies in CEO, COO, and CMO roles. He currently serves as a full-time Practitioner Faculty of Strategy at the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University and the Founder/CEO of LoanBlock.
Over the last 14 years he has founded, managed and worked with multiple venture funded technology start-ups including Anedot, CHNL (acquired by XLR8R), Strike Social, and Muzit. Additionally, Dr. Murphy has worked with numerous large brands including Apple, Microsoft, Outward Bound, Lenovo, Ariba, Patagonia, Yum! Brands, and Harvard University.
Dr. Murphy is a member of the Board of Directors of Auto-Graphics, Inc., a leading provider of library technology solutions, a member of the Board of Trustees for Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts, and a member of the Board of Directors of SkillsUSA California, a not-for- profit supporting youth career skills development. He also is an active volunteer with the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Dr. Murphy earned his Doctor of Business Administration from The University of Manchester and his BS in Management and MBA both from Pepperdine University.
