Rina Onur's Career

Rina Onur Şirinoğlu is the Founding Partner of 500 Istanbul, a $15M micro-VC fund focused on early stage technology companies in Turkey, Turkic region and the diaspora. Launched in 2016 under the 500 Startups network, the fund provides seed stage funding to regional companies with global ambitions. Rina is also the co-founder of Peak Games and Hemenkiralik.

Rina co-founded Peak Games in October 2010 and raised $35m in VC funding for the company. Peak Games develops and publishes games that fit the unique interests and cultures of emerging markets to create a platform and network of gamers. Today, Peak Games is one of the leading social, casual gaming companies in the world.

Rina is also the Co-Founder of, the largest vacation rental network of Turkey, MENA & Eastern Europe regions, featuring over 50,000 vacation homes in over 950 cities. The company operates under the larger umbrella of Expedia (NASDAQ: EXPE) through its Homeaway, Inc. partnership.

Prior to venturing into the Turkish startup ecosystem, Rina has worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and as an investment professional at Turkven Private Equity. Rina holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University and is a founding member of the World Economic Forum: Global Shapers Istanbul Hub.
