Ronald Ishak, commonly known as Ron Ishak, is the founder and CEO of Hacktiv8, a rapid developer education program that helps absolute beginners become hireable full-stack developers. Ronald is also the founding partner of RMKB Ventures, which has seeded companies such as Giftcard Indonesia, Printerous and Urbanhire.
Ronald got his big start from starting Domikado in 2008, the first BlackBerry app tailored for Indonesia which was a viral success. Ronald was also an early advisor for Doku, Indonesia’s leading online payment gateway which was eventually sold to the Emtek group. In 2014, Ronald was the CTO of Giftcard Indonesia, building the groundwork for a prepaid payment and loyalty system.
Ronald’s early failures include Tasterous, a location based food startup, together with Ken Dean of Kaskus, Selina of Urbanesia and Deche Pangestu closed in 2010. Through Domikado, Ronald also started SatuTempat, an online e-commerce marketplace, and Invoice.co.id, both of which was closed after Domikado’s acquisition in 2013.
Today, Ronald spends a lot of time working with early-stage companies to reach scalable growth through automation, technical architecture planning and sustainable hiring. Through these efforts, Ronald has demonstrated his ability to bring companies in their early stage into their growth stage.
