Freddy "Balo" Mahhumane is the founder of Open-Technik Pty Ltd and a motivational speaker. He has been in the Information Technology industry for over ten years. He is a certified Novell Content Management Specialist.​ He has been a speaker at various open source conferences in South Africa such as Net.share and Open-Horizons and was voted "Best New Comer 2009 for Information Technology and product implementation" by Novell South Africa.​ He is also the founder of the Facebook group “Young Black Entrepreneurs in South Africa” which allows young entrepreneurs to interact and share information.​ He recently started writing articles for News24 in which he shares his financial opinions with the rest of South Africa.
