About this event

Anyone who is aspiring to start a business or already has one but has trouble running it will benefit from this dialogue. Julie will explain the Design thinking strategy which will make running businesses better.

As the Founder & Principal at Thelela Consulting, Julie uses the process of human-centered design to help individuals, organizations and communities develop innovative solutions to identified challenges.

She trains competent university graduates who are preparing to enter the workforce, or recently have on identified job related soft skills, then matches them with corporate insitutions, small & medium enterprises and non-governmental organizations for internship opportunities.

One of her current clients is the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Program where she trains young African leaders with the tools to apply design thinking techniques to the challenge of starting and/or growing a business or non-profit.

Previously, she served as Program Coordinator for Africa programs at Vital Voices Global Partnership where she provided technical and program management support to four African businesswomen's associations in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda to advocate for an enabling economic environment for women.
