We are excited to host Ghislain Irakoze and Kevin Shema on a panel where we will learn how their respective startups are building recycling and renewable technology in Rwanda. Ghislain Irakoze is the Founder and CEO of Wastezon, a Rwandan cleantech company that has a vision of creating a waste-free world. Wastezon launched a waste management App and High- tech Smart Waste Bins for efficient waste traceability, sorting, and collection. So far over 400 tons of e-waste have been transacted on our app, diverting over 2000 tons of carbon emissions from ending up in landfills." Ghislain is passionate about solving the Climate-risks by providing innovative mitigation solutions, he thrived at organizing the “Recycle for Environment” Campaign, which involved over 200 students in Waste recycling in partnership with Tunza-Eco-generation Samsung Initiative. Kevin Shema is CEO of Umuti, a Rwandan green enterprise that provides an excellent and safe packaging that the world needs. Their first product is an eco-friendly paper bag that uses banana & plantain trunks that are left over after harvest. Learn what it takes to build a circular economy. Learn about Wastezon's recycling tech and Umuti's renewable tech.
