This November, we are excited to host a super entrepreneur Lauren Russell Nkuranga Founder & CEO at GET IT Africa. Lauren has a remarkably inspiring story, with a B.A. in Political Science and Anthropology from Yale University, she had a successful career working with global organizations like (Nike Inc, Nike Foundation, DFID, Intel Corp and His Holiness the Dalai Lama as an Advisor on Impact Investing, UI/UX Design and Global Communications. Moved to Rwanda in 2012 and worked with Nike Foundation and the UK Department For International Development (DFID) project Girl Effect. in 2014 Lauren saw an opportunity to add value in Rwanda, she quit her job at Nike to start GET IT which is now the largest distributor of fruits and vegetables in Rwanda, with over 70 employees, and raised over $1.5M in seed stage capital. Today Lauren is transforming food procurement and distribution in East Africa by connecting frontier-market farmers, producers, and manufactures to formal markets, bringing East Africa’s food supply chain into the 21st century. This event in-line with Global Entrepreneurship Week, focused on helping millions of people unleash their ideas to start and scale new businesses through and will be included on the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018 global calendar.
