ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER Katlego Monyatsi

He serve as Client Services Manager responsible for building strategic partnerships across sectors for the upliftment of young people in South Africa through the SA Youth Network.  Now based in Kimberley, Katlego is working together with Startup Grind Kimberley for Harambee and SA Youth Network to have a branch in the Northern Cape.

"Born and bread in a township called Itsoseng in Lichtenburg, outside Mahikeng in the North West - I now call Kimberley home.  I studied my high school at FM Ramaboa Technical & Commercial School where I majored in Technical Drawing/Basic Architecture, Electricians work, and of course Math and Science in the same township I then enrolled at the North West University, Mahikeng Campus for my BA Comms and Honours respectively.

I have worked for NGOs for the longest of time, from the Church that I am still attending where I was a volunteer IT Administrator which got me my first job at LifeLine Mafikeng, and LifeLine West Rand as a Project Coordinator in 2010 which let to my relocation to Gauteng, I’ve also worked for the Market Theatre Foundation in Newtown, Lectured in Damelin Menlyn hence my relocation to Pretoria. Worked for IkamvaYouth and Tateni in Mamelodi which led me to joining Harambee in 2017.

So when Covid-19 happened we closed all our offices national and started working remotely, this is when I was roped in to join the newly formed Community Partnerships team then as an SA Youth Project Manager and Regional Support Lead for Free State and North West while based in Pretoria. Last year I was moved to the new Department called Demand Unlocking Team (DUT) where I currently serve as Client Services Manager responsible for building strategic partnerships across sectors for the upliftment of young people in South Africa through the SA Youth Network. And as they say the rest is history."
