Vishen started Mindvalley with $700 and a beat up Toshiba laptop in a Starbucks. In 10 years, with zero VC money, loans or government grants, he’s built a company worth over $100M USD that employes 200 people in 4 countries. 

Through Mindvalley, Vishen invests in and builds education companies. The company’s goal is to help spread enlightened ideas to 1 billion people by 2050; ideas that you won’t get from traditional education systems. 

Collectively, Mindvalley has been growing rapidly and now employs brilliant minds from 30+ different countries, all of whom work in their playpen for adults, aka the Mindvalley HQ, which was billed by Inc Magazine readers as one of the World’s Coolest Offices in 2012.

Vishen’s companies include the MindvalleyAcademy.com with 2 million subscribers and 250,000 paying students studying health and wellness programs online. He’s also the founder of Omvana, which has been the #1 Highest Grossing Gealth and Fitness App in 30+ Countries. Last month, his other app Dormio, was the #2 most downloaded Health and Fitness app in America. 

Vishen also created Awesomeness Fest — a world class gathering of entrepreneurs that takes place in exotic locations around the world. Each year it gets 5X the number of applicants as available seats and is growing rapidly.  Vishen donates all profits to charity. Almost 500,000 RM each year. 

He’s extremely passionate about work culture. By 2020, Vishen aims to drive Mindvalley into becoming the #1 place in the world to work, a dream he had presented through his TEDx talk, ‘How to Build the World’s Greatest Workplace’. 

Outside Mindvalley, within Malaysia, Vishen co-founded Dealmates.com. It successfully raised US$2 million in venture capital funding from Intel Capital. In early 2014, Dealmates.com was acquired by the iBuy Group and was successfully listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Today, the iBuy Group has a market capital of over US$120 million.

Vishen is also an active philanthropist via the Mindvalley Foundation and sits on the Innovation Board of the X Prize Foundation. 

In KL, Vishen’s goal is to culture hack the behaviour of young entrepreneurs to turn his home city of Kuala Lumpur into one of the top 20 cities in the world to launch a startup. Through Project Renaissance, he funds and provides free entrepreneurial education to tens of thousands of young people looking to make a difference. Many of KL’s most well known local groups including WebcampKL, Incitement, StartupGrind and more, were founded at Mindvalley by it’s employees. 

In 2012, Vishen built the Hall of Awesomeness, as part of Mindvalley’s new office. 
This year alone, 20,000 Malaysians will be attending events at The Hall Of Awesomeness, whichVishen completely self-funded and uses to provide free meeting spaces for events that inspire entrepreneurship in Malaysia.
