Harry Tomi Davies (TD) is an ICT Expert with a background of technology management for FTSE 100 level companies in the UK, US and Africa. Directs and advises a broad range of organisations globally, writes and blogs (occasionally) while maintaining a significant network of connections across most of the major social media platforms.
With a successful background in FTSE 100 level companies in the UK, USA and Africa, Harry ’Tomi Davies (TD) is a recognised expert in the IT-led transformation of businesses. He is the CEO of TVCLabs, a Technology Business Incubation Company based in Lagos, Nigeria and sits on the Boards of Sproxil, Baas Online Properties, MBO Capital, Strika Entertainment, TechnoVision Communications and PeoplePrime.
As its Head of IT Research, TD developed the first ever Marks & Spencer plc website. At Ernst & Young he was the Executive Consultant in the eCommerce Practice that helped AB&B HQ in Zurich develop and implement a 100 country global e-Business strategy. At Sapient Inc. where he was the Strategy Director, TD helped Siemens HQ’ in Munich Germany reorganize its Wireless Engineering Division for UMTS. He developed the UK Government’s award-winning UkOnline (Direct.Gov) website for the Cabinet Office. As Chief Operating Officer of Alteq.ict he was their Project Director for the World Bank’s Integrated Payroll & Personnel Information System (IPPIS), a 6-Ministry, 50,000-user project for the Federal Government of Nigeria. At Mobitel where he was also Chief Operating Officer, TDled the deployment of the first Wimax 16e based 4G mobile broadband network in Nigeria.
Aside from his corporate activities TD mentors individuals and advises organizations globally, writes this blog and maintains a significant network of connections, friends and followers on most of the major social media platforms. He is an accomplished public speaker whose goal of “maximizing the creation of social and economic value using digital technologies” resulted in his leadership of Nigerian involvement in the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative created by his friend MIT Professor Nicholas Negroponte.
TD has numerous published articles on various areas of IT Business management and is a co-author of business bestsellers “Corporate Bold” and “Cracking the Success Code”. He belongs to a variety of organizations including the Institute of Directors, British Computer Society, Genesis Project, the Nigeria British Association, Internet Society and the Project Management Institute and a graduate in systems analysis from the University of Miami.
TD has a passion for comics and has been the West African publisher of SupaStrikas, a fantasy league soccer comic and animated TV series for over a decade. He is a Royal Yachting Association certified day skipper and co-founder of Laptops4Learning, a charity organization that provides screen-based environments for underprivileged children across Africa. He is also a member of Governor Fashola of Lagos State Nigeria’s Innovation Advisory Council and Chairman of Mobile Monday Nigeria.
