Colm is founder of Carambola Kidz, Ireland's market leader of bespoke healthy school lunches based in Limerick employing 120 people with annual turnover in excess €7m. After 4 years as General Manager of Bewley's flagship Grafton St Café in 1998 Colm took on the Bewley's franchise in Limerick & after initial success, it ultimately failed. Carambola was founded in 2003 as a result of that failure.
Colm is founder & MD of Carambola Kidz, Ireland's market leader of bespoke healthy school lunches based at Annacotty, Limerick employing 120 people with annual turnover in excess €7m. His hospitality career highlights include four years as GM at Bewley's flagship Grafton St Café. In 1998 Colm took on the Bewley's franchise in Limerick & after initial success, it ultimately failed. Carambola was founded in 2003 as a result of that failure. Carambola supplied 27 school lunches on day one and 27,000,000 lunches since. He tells all in his best selling book, Feeding Johnny and in 2016 he founded Colm O'Brien Motivation.
