About this event

The best entrepreneurs don't give up! We invited two speakers that have been building great companies for over 20 years. They are behind these companies: LastMinute.com, Founders Forum, MADE.COM, Founders Factory, FirstMinute Capital, SmartUp and Grip. Brent Hoberman and Henry Lane-Fox

Here’s what you might not know about Brent Hoberman: being one of the world’s leading tech entrepreneurs today, he is best-known for co-founding LastMinute in 1998 with Martha Lane Fox, Henry joined them a little later. After going public in 2000 its stock lost 95% when the dot com bubble burst. Yet Brent believed in the value the company was creating and decided to build it back up. It worked. In 2005 LastMinute was sold to Sabre for $1.1bn. It remains one of the leading travel websites in Europe.

We are glad that Brent and Henry accepted our invitation.

Brent Hoberman is the co-founder and chairman of Founders Forum, a series of intimate invite only events for leading entrepreneurs and senior investors; firstminute capital, a pan-European $100m seed fund, backed by Atomico, Tencent and over 30 unicorn founders as well as Karakuri, a provider of robotics, AI and automation systems.

Brent is a former board member of TalkTalk, TimeOut, The Guardian Media Group, Shazam Entertainment and The Economist. He currently sits on the advisory board of LetterOne Technology (a $16bn investment fund), the Oxford Foundry and the UK Gov Digital Advisory Board.

Brent is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, a former Prime Minister's Business Trade Ambassador and co-chairs the Prime Minister Theresa May's Business Sector Council for Britain in entrepreneurship, scale-ups and small business. In 2015, Brent was awarded a CBE for services to entrepreneurship.

Henry Lane-Fox is Co-Founder & CEO of Founders Factory, a corporate backed incubator and accelerator based in London, founded in 2015. Previously, Henry was CEO of Founders Forum Group where he co-founded Founders Intelligence, SmartUp.io and Grip. Henry still remains a partner at Founders Forum, serves as Executive Chairman at Founders Intelligence and most recently, became a partner at firstminute capital. Henry began his career in digital as a member of the founding team at lastminute.com. He has deep experience of advising global brands and institutional investors on digital transformation, emerging technologies and start-up partnerships, working closely with companies such as Sky, Visa, Tesco, Silver Lake and L’Oréal.
