Gerard Grech (@gerardgrech) is the CEO of Tech City UK, an organisation focused on accelerating the growth of digital businesses in London and across cities in the UK. He is also a member of the UK Government’s Digital Economy Council and Greater London Authority’s Smart London Board, both focused on economic growth through digital innovation.
Gerard has 15 years experience in the world of digital media, web and mobile. His international experience in London, Paris and New York, building digital products and rolling them out across 5 continents, has given him global vision and local expertise, spanning product development, business strategy and venture capital. Before that he was a new media journalist and started his career in the music business.

Gerard Grech is the Chief Executive Officer at the Tech City Organisation. He was an Advisor at EC1 Capital Ltd. He focused on digital media and product innovation at the firm. Mr. Grech served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Nokia Growth Partners. Before that, he served as Nokia's global head of Content Strategy & Portfolio Development as well as global head of Apps and Content Distribution.
Prior to Nokia, he was at Orange as Group Director of Strategy and Business Development for the content division, UK head at Next.com, and Group Head of Music and Video. Mr. Grech was founder and Chair of the Mobile Entertainment Forum's EMEA Chapter and board member of DDEX.
Before his MBA, he worked as a freelance new media journalist for United Business Media, co-founded a music imprint and ran his own media consultancy business. Mr. Grech is the Director of Partnerships & Services at FranceTelecom. He has been a Director of Mobile Entertainment Forum since May 2006. Mr. Grech has a degree in Acoustical Engineering.
