We are thrilled to celebrate #SGWomen's month with a panel discussion focusing on women in tech in Louisville. Lisa Bajorinas will be moderating a discussion with Jessica Bledsoe, co-founder & CEO of Pav*r, and Shannon Fehr, CEO of RockIT women about the challenges and opportunities faced by women working in the tech field in our community.
Jessica Bledsoe is the co-founder & CEO of Pav*r, a productivity app that, simply put, makes your Google Calendar better.
A native of southeastern Kentucky, Jessica moved to Louisville in 2006 to pursue a degree in Communications from the University of Louisville.
Jessica is passionate about helping others reclaim their time so they can spend it doing more of what they love. When she’s not helping businesses migrate to the cloud or automating their business systems, Jessica enjoys traveling with her husband, cuddling with her dogs, or reading a good book.
Shannon Fehr put on the first Women in Tech (WIT) conference in 2015 because she was tired of being the only female in the room when going to IT events. Many people doubted Shannon that she could fill a room with just women. Are there that many women in IT? Do they care about enhancing their career with educational events and networking? Shannon knew the answer was yes well before the day arrived. The first WIT event was a huge success with 100 women - more than any other event Shannon put on in her 10 years at boice.net (a technology company located in New Albany, IN which has since been bought by Treece3).
Shannon’s 10 experiences with corporate events lead her to planning weddings. “I never dreamed I would be a wedding planner, but I got the bug and fell in love!” In 2017, Shannon joined her now business partner, Melinda Leach, and started Bliss Events & Co. Missing the IT industry, Shannon decided to put on another WIT event and created the Fehr Event Group. LLC to put it on. With the help of volunteers and local companies like Papa Johns, the second WIT event tripled in size. “The IT industry is like no other I have ever been a part of- I just love the industry and I love working with the women in IT. The women are so supportive of one another and want to see one another succeed.” Shannon still loves doing weddings, but her new love is all things WIT. In 2019, thanks to COVID shutdown, Shannon started a new company called RockIT Women. RockIT Women will provide additional services and programs that will fuel women and propel them to be all they can be!
Shannon is married to her high school sweetheart and has two teenagers. Shannon graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in marketing. When not planning weddings or events, Shannon loves entertaining family and friends and hiking or bike riding in parks. Shannon's lifelong goal is to help others - one person at a time!
