Mark NeJame is an attorney, entrepreneur, CNN analyst and philanthropist based in Orlando, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, has been named among Orlando's 50 Most Powerful People, and is the founder and senior partner of NeJame Law.
Mark NeJame received both his Bachelor's Degree and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. He graduated from UF’s, College of Law, in 1980. He is based primarily in Central Florida with his main office in Orlando. His firm has other satellite offices in Central Florida. He has routinely handled both state and federal cases and clients throughout Florida, having practiced in numerous counties throughout the state as well as in all of Florida’s federal district courts; the Middle, Northern and Southern U.S. Districts. In addition to Florida, he has represented clients and handled cases in numerous other states and districts throughout the United States and the Caribbean including Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, California, New York, Virgin Islands, New Jersey, Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia.
For the first 25 years of his 32 year career, Mark NeJame primarily devoted his practice to criminal defense. His state and national reputation was achieved by passionately representing thousands of clients charged with essentially every type of criminal offense. Today, NeJame Law, has the largest criminal defense team in Central Florida, and possibly in Florida. Because of the demand for him and his firm to provide additional legal services, NeJame Law expanded its practice areas several years ago and now includes strong and equally well respected personal injury, immigration, family law and civil/commercial litigation divisions.
Mark NeJame has been named among Orlando's 50 Most Powerful People for many consecutive years in Orlando Magazine's Most Powerful annual list. Orlando Leisure Magazine also identifies Mark NeJame among Orlando's Best Lawyers. He has been further recognized in the esteemed Florida Trend Magazine's Legal Elite as one of the best attorneys in Florida. He has been the subject of numerous newspaper and magazine articles, being referred to as "Orlando's Own Johnny Cochran", " The Power Worthy", "Defender is a Contender", "Orlando Power Couple", and the "Voice for the Voiceless".
Dedicated to service to others, Mark has been very active in a variety of civil, charity and political functions, having hosted multiple charitable and political events. He is co-founder and intimately involved, along with his wife, with Runway to Hope, a charity that provides assistance, research, help and support to children with pediatric cancer and their families. In only its first four years, Runway to Hope has been voted or recognized as The Best Charity Event in Central Florida a staggering 9 times. He has been honored to receive the Award for Excellence in Fundraising by a Nonprofit, by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He and his wife, Josie, have also been named Philanthropist of the Year for 2014 by the same organization. Mark is a member of the board of directors of the International Prostate Cancer Foundation, has served as co-chair for the Heart Fund Ball and chaired or been in a leadership role in many other charities.
Mark has been contracted on two occasions as a Legal Analyst and Commentator for both CNN and HLN (HeadLine News), speaking frequently to a national and international audience on the major national cases of the day. He has also been a contributor to CNN.com. Mark is currently contracted as a Legal Analyst and Commentator with Central Florida News 13, providing regular legal commentary on legal matters occurring throughout Central Florida several days a week.
In addition to the appearances on CNN and HLN, he has appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS Morning Show, Anderson Cooper 360, Piers Morgan Show, The Canadian News Network (CBC), Nancy Grace Show, The Dr. Phil Show, Dr. Drew Show, American Greed, MSNBC, FOX News, Joy Behar Show, Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell, Geraldo Rivera, Studio B with Shepard Smith, Inside Edition, Greta van Susteren, Court TV, TruTv, as well other shows and a variety of ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox national and local news segments and outlets. Mark was a 2012 Emmy nominee, along with the rest of the WKMG news team, where he provided ongoing legal analysis and commentary on the Casey Anthony trial.
