Ali Zahid is the cofounder and COO of Vanhawks, a Toronto based startup, the brainchild of 4 engineering students - Ali, a Bio- medical engineering student with work in graphics design and business development, and his cofounders, Adil, a veteran in carbon fibre composite construction and manufacturing, Sohaib a medical student with expertise in biomechanics design and Niv with expertise in scaling and creating applications people love. They've just completed FounderFuel in Montreal and launched their Kickstarter campaign 12 days before demo day, with the goal of raising $100,000. They hit their target goal within 30 hours and quickly surpassed it raising 8x the initial goal. The new company quickly got covered by TechCrunch, NBC and even Style Magazine generating so much demand that they're already offering international orders and expect to sell more than 10,000 bikes in the first 12 months.
