About our guest -

Erica is currently Principal Engineer & Architect at New Relic, but has been innovating cloud computing technologies since 2002. By leveraging early-career experience of supporting web hosting environments, Erica sought to disrupt the web hosting industry. Some career highlights include:

  • Founder of IOpipe (acq. NewRelic), providing event-based analytics and distributed tracing for AWS Lambda and "serverless" applications
  • Founder of the Magnum Container Service, an OpenStack project.
  • Early employee and security lead for Docker (January 2014 - Oct 2015)
  • Early contributor to OpenStack (February 2011).
  • Released one of the first open source cloud management systems -- in 2010.
  • Founded GrokThis, a cloud services product company offering serverless and virtual machine services (2003-2010)
