Daniel Gasteiger is one of Switzerland's most prolific blockchain entrepreneurs, having co-founded "nexussquared", a blockchain business advisory platform, and Procivis AG, a company that develops "egovernment as a service" solutions backed by blockchain technology. Daniel is a board member of the Global Blockchain Business Council, and a member of Switzerland's national blockchain taskforce.

About this event

Before becoming one of Switzerland’s most prolific blockchain entrepreneurs, Daniel has worked in financial services for more than 20 years.

Fascinated with the future potential of blockchain technology, Daniel decided to leave the banking world in 2015 to co-found “nexussquared”, a blockchain business advisory platform based in Zurich. With nexussquared, he has been working towards enhancing the attractiveness of Zurich and Switzerland for international blockchain startups and, in parallel, initiated blockchain meet-up groups across Europe, including Zurich, Vaduz, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw and Tallinn.

In 2016, Daniel founded his second venture, Procivis AG, a company that develops “e-government as a service” solutions backed by blockchain technology. Procivis’s first client is the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen, who is using the digital identity platform “eID+” to deliver e-government services to its citizens as a pilot. Procivis, as an extension of eID+, is working on a fully self-sovereign, integrated electronic identity and personal data management platform called “VALID”.

VALID is realizing a solution where users have their self-sovereign digital ID for a secure, seamless online experience with state-of-the-art encryption for sensitive data and a personal data marketplace to optionally monetize their own anonymized data without an intermediary.
