Dmitry Shapiro, the former CTO of MySpace, launched Koji which makes it easy for social media platform users to casually solicit "tips" on their profile pages. Using the tech, some users on Clubhouse, TikTok and LinkedIn have been able to monetize their followings, and some even make a living that way. The over-arching vision, inspired by Shapiro's multiple Burning Man excursions, is reinventing the creator economy. This is a virtual fireside chat event organized by Startup Grind Boston chapter with Jason Kraus and Yev Ioffe. We will discuss Dmitry Shapiro's story and startup journey, his views on the evolution of social media and future pathways, and advice for entrepreneurs and creators building their ventures. Audience Q&A encouraged in this interactive chat!About the Speaker
