Dmitry Shapiro, the former CTO of MySpace, launched Koji which makes it easy for social media platform users to casually solicit "tips" on their profile pages. Using the tech, some users on Clubhouse, TikTok and LinkedIn have been able to monetize their followings, and some even make a living that way. The over-arching vision, inspired by Shapiro's multiple Burning Man excursions, is reinventing the creator economy.
