About this event

Moudi Sbeity is the chef, owner & founder of Laziz Kitchen, a Zagat reviewed restaurant serving up incredible modern Lebanese and Mediterranean food in Salt Lake City. Prior to Laziz Kitchen he and Derek Kitchen, founded Laziz Foods in 2012 with the mission to integrate a culinary dynamic between middle eastern flavors and home cuisine. Starting off selling hummus at the farmers market they have cultivated their cuisines and in turn their success as these ventures have grown.

Moudi came to Utah from Lebanon in 2006 and studied at Utah State University. His persistance & determination has helped him to bridge his passion for food with community engagement. Whether it’s advocating for social justice & LGBT rights, involvment in local political office, or early mornings with neighbors at the farmers market, he and his husband, Derek Kitchen, are driven by their love for the community and are constantly working to make it a better place.
