Dirk Elmendorf moved to San Antonio to attend Trinity University. He graduated with a BA in Economics in 1997. After helping to start a very small computer consulting company, he stumbled onto the idea that would change his life. Along with two other Trinity students, Dirk co-founded Rackspace Managed Hosting in 1999. Rackspace is currently the world’s largest hosting and cloud company with a market cap of over 7 billion dollars. Dirk left Rackspace in 2009 to get back to his start up roots. In addition to advising several startups, Dirk currently runs TruckingOffice - an online application built to manage small trucking companies. He is also active in promoting math, science, and technology education through the 80/20 Foundation and the Witte Museum.
The evening will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with pizza, beer and soda and networking. At 7:00 p.m. we will have a fireside chat with Dirk Elmendorf, one of the co-founders of Rackspace. He now runs his own startup and has created a makerspace in San Antonio.
