Yvonne “Bonnie” Garcia founded MarketVision in San Antonio, Texas, in 1998 to fill a void in shopper, promotional and grassroots marketing. Prior to establishing MarketVision, she had spent 22 years in corporate marketing, including 15 years directing corporate Hispanic marketing and Midwest division marketing for Coca-Cola USA and Stroh Brewery. Considered a pioneer in the field of ethnic marketing, she began her career in the early 1980s when most companies had only just begun to acknowledge the importance of emerging consumer segments. During her tenure in Corporate America, she implemented innovative consumer programs targeting Hispanic, African American and youth segments. (In fact, she was the first corporate marketer to sign Tejano singer Selena to a contract.)
