Ashok Kamal is the current Executive Director of Tech Coast Angels – San Diego, which is one of the largest angel investor groups in the country.

As an angel, Ashok has invested in 3 companies, including Outsite, which is a network of co-living & co-working properties in beautiful places. Ashok’s latest venture, the School of Rap, is an online & offline platform to teach youth through creative freestyle and empowering messages.

Ashok’s career as a social entrepreneur includes co-founding companies in green business, online education and crowdfunding and he has experienced bootstrapping to profitability, raising VC and completing an acquisition. Ashok also led a youth development nonprofit, helped design Newsweek’s Green Rankings for socially responsible investors and started a progressive hip-hop record label in New York City.

Ashok is a board member of the Entertainers 4 Education Alliance, a member of Green Seal’s Advisory Council, and volunteers with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
