Sunny is a vice president and founding member of Global Innovation Center (GIC), a Samsung Electronics organization based in Silicon Valley, New York and Seoul.
GIC was founded in 2013 to exclusively to work with entrepreneurs and startups to create breakout products.
GIC activities include:
- Investments and acquisitions of early stage technology startups
- Incubating internal startups in the Samsung Accelerator
- Collaboration with entrepreneurs, startups and developers to foster development for Samsung cross-device ecosystem
Sunny's main responsibilities at GIC include driving HQ collaborations for SmartThings (IoT startup acquired by GIC in 2014),
managing GIC startups and identifying key investments & acquisition target areas.
Before joining Samsung, Sunny lived in Silicon Valley where his previous work experiences include Siebel Oracle, first generation dot.com startups, and strategic consulting
Sunny has an engineering degree from Georgia Tech and MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
