2020 has been a year most of us will never forget thanks in part to COVID-19: from historic and unprecedented restrictions to travel around the world to a forced migration of remote and virtual work for billions of people globally, the pandemic fundamentally altered our lives in a short amount of time in ways most of us never thought possible. 

For startups, this year was nothing short of dramatic, but it wasn't all doom and gloom. VC's adapted, deal flow didn't come to a grinding halt -by most measures, we saw an uptick in activity in the region compared to 2019- and some startups were able to pivot, adapt, adjust and thrive in the "COVID economy." 

With vaccines now being approved around the world, the end of the pandemic is in sight. But there is still a long way to go and by many estimates, the pandemic won't fully be over for the world till at least 2022.
