About this event

Modern warfare is not just on the battlefield but online, with disinformation undermining foes and creating chaos and division.

For places like Georgia and Ukraine, which are under threat, it's important to actively counter these destructive techniques.

Join us for a fireside chat with Georgia's own Zviad Adzinbaia who came from being displaced from Abkahazia to traveling the world to learn best practices in digital diplomacy under the US Fulbright program.

He focuses on finding technology-enabled ways for addressing disinformation in the Euro-Atlantic area. He collaborates with Microsoft, and other leading technology and social media companies, academia, corporate, think tank, and government players in Europe and the United States. As part of his 2021-22 Fulbright project, Zviad met nearly two hundred technologists, policymakers, industry leaders, scientists, and journalists from Silicon Valley and Seattle to Boston and Washington D.C. to examine his thesis on technology-enabled democracy.

We also will present examples of technology projects from the Counter-Disinformation Challenge conducted by Zinc and Startup Grind with support from USAID.
