While tourism and other businesses are down, opportunities for digital outsourcing and products are greater than ever.

But most people don't know someone who grew and sold an agency.

While Base36, founded by Mike Shewrood in 1998, is different than Georgian agencies as it was located in the US, there are certainly lessons learned.

Mike Sherwood received his B.A. in Computer Science from Bowdoin College in 1997, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Betta Kappa. After graduation, he worked on Enterprise projects as a consultant and began consulting independently the following year.

Mike founded Base36 in 1998 - assembling teams of passionate technologists and watching them complete exceptional feats.  Now he is semi-retired to Puerto Rico.

In his spare time, Mike power paraglides and can be found teaching this unique sport as a USPPA instructor. He also enjoys whitewater rafting, kayaking, and playing poker

Specialties: DB2, WebSphere, EJB, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, SQLJ, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, SAX, DOM, JDOM, JTOpen, JNI, and RMI. Beyond that, Mike has significant experience guiding organizations through shifts in software development methodologies (his facility encompasses a variety of waterfall methodologies, Agile, Scrum, and XP).

This event is focused on people interested in growing digital services agencies.
