Izhar Shay is a General Partner at Canaan Partners Israel, a VC firm focused on seed and early stage technology investments in Israel. He is an entrepreneur himself, and he started Startup Stadium, Israel's biggest online entrepreneurship community. 
He is also a columnist and podcaster.

Izhar Shay has 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur who founded and sold two companies (Business Layers, V-Secure). He was VP of Business Development with international investment firm The BRM Group and in 2005 joined Canaan Partners, where he now serves as a Managing General Partner, focusing on investments in Israel in the cloud, mobile, and digital media sectors.
Izhar founded and led Start-Up Stadium, Israel's largest online community of entrepreneurs, which connects thousands of Israeli entrepreneurs and investors. He also the founder of the popular radio show and podcast High Tech BaPkakim and wrote a weekly column at Globes for 11 years. Izhar was selected by Geektime as one of the top 100 influencers in the Israeli high-tech.
Izhar Shay has been recently nominated as an MK candidate at the 20th place on the Blue and White party. In the political realm he expects to further benefit the vitality and achievements of the Israeli innovation and entrepreneurial scene.
