Rony Zarom sold his first company Exalink for $550mm to Comverse (NASDAQ: CNSI) only 18 months after establishing it. Rony has started Aspen Group, a publicly traded group (TASE) that focuses on income-producing real estate properties with total consolidated net assets of ILS 2.4 billion as well as Decima Ventures, a technology investment group with over 13 years track-record of building and growing successful companies. Decima Ventures typically invests in early-stage tech companies in the cyber-security, video, messaging and social spaces, current investments include Watchitoo, Axxana, PineApp and most recently- Samba, chosen as “startup to watch” at SXSW 2014.
As an investor, Rony acknowledges: "It's true, we fund companies. But what we really invest in is people. "
Creating successful companies is not Rony's only achievement: He is committed to giving back to the community.
In 2001 Rony established Unistream - a non-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through entrepreneurship. The 3 year educational program won the UN inter-cultural innovation award, and is committed to educating to “a new generation of business and social leaders – leaders who will rise up and be committed to improving the social and economic conditions in their own communities.”

INVESTOR, ENTREPRENEUR, PHILANTHROPIST
The international market first took notice of Zarom in 2000 when he sold his first company, Exalink, to Comverse (NASDAQ: CNSI) for $550mm, only 18 months after establishing it. However, Zarom’s propensity towards entrepreneurship began long before then.
In 1994, Zarom was one of the founding team member of Elronet, - the first commercial ISP in Israel. Elronet later merged into Netvision which became Israel’s biggest Internet service provider (ISP) to date.
While at Elronet, Zarom championed an initiative that became ArelNet, a publically traded company on the Israeli Stock Exchange. (Today owned by AirSpan).
Zarom’s business activity is not limited to the tech industry. He is the majority share holder of Aspen Group, a publicly traded company on the Israel Stock Exchange that specializes in high-yield commercial real estate and solar energy systems, with assets valued at approximately 2.2 billion NIS shekel.
As a committed philanthropist, Zarom is the founder, chairman and driving force behind Unistream (established 2001), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through entrepreneurship.
In 2013, Unistream was awarded the Presidential Volunteer President, Shimon Peres. In 2016, Unistream achieved second place in the Intercultural Innovation Award, a partnership between UNAOC and the BMW, for their educational and entrepreneurial program,
Zarom holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Science from City University of New York.
He is married with four children and divides his time between Tel Aviv and NYC.
