Romeo SHERKO is the founder (2007) and CEO of ikubINFO Ltd., the largest software engineering company in Albania. For many, he is also known as the founder (2006) and managing partner of the largest and most visited web information portal in Albania, www.ikub.al. Mr. Sherko started private business in early 90’s. He was one of three founders and managing partner of the first software company in Albania (1991), at the time called ICC (International Computer Company), today’s IMB of Alpha Accounting. Later, in 1994, he was founder and managing partner of GCC (GeoComp Company), the first GIS-company in Albania, later known as GIS Albania. Academically, Mr. Sherko holds a 5-year Bachelor degree from Computer Science Department of University of Tirana, and two master degrees from the University of Wisconsin – USA, one in GIS and Remote Sensing (1999), and the other in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics (2001). He was member of Computer Science Department of University of Tirana between 1989 and 1997. With 25+ years of experience, Mr. Sherko’s work encompasses a variety of large-scale, innovative projects in software development, information systems, land administration, GIS and remote sensing, real estate development, and business development and management. Since 2007, he is founder and active Board member of AITA (Albanian Information Technology Association).
