Agron Shehaj is one of of the most successful and innovator entrepreneurs in Albania and beyond. He is the founder of several successful companies in Albania and abroad that focus on providing online marketing products and services to European markets.
At the age of 13, with the collapse of the communist regime, like many other Albanians in search of freedom and a better future, Agron and his family left the country with the mass exodus of the 90’. He studied Economics-Business at the University of Florence.
After years of disconnection from Albania, at the age of 28, with a great desire to contribute and not to lose ties with his country, he decided to return and invest in Albania. In 2005, Agron establish IDS (Intercom Data Service Group), the first Albanian company able to provide services in the European market. From a small company, IDS became a giant company with around 3000 employees, 15 offices in the country and million euros annual turnover, thanks to the dedication, vision and European mentality of Agron. As the founder of one of the largest non-public companies by number of employees, Agron set a new standard in the enterprise market in Albania. This new norm, not only contributed to improve the quality of life for many citizens or direct reduction of unemployment in the country, but through career programs, IDS become vanguard in the development and preparation of new capacity human bid able to cope with the international labor market. For this, Agron, was honored with the award "Employer of the Year 2013".
Although success was growing, it was not enough for an ambitious individual whose drawer was filled with creative ideas. Inspired by innovative entrepreneurship and technological developments, in 2013, Agron established “Local Web”, a company which operates in the field of marketing and online consulting. In just three years, this international company, ranked among 5 most successful online marketing companies in the Italian market, won the prestigious status of Google Premier Partner and opened its offices in the United Kingdom. Achieving such success, offering competitive and innovative products, Agron aims to turn “Local Web” in a more gigantic enterprise that tends to conquer markets across Europe and beyond.
On the other hand, Agron believes in the extraordinary potential, talent, energy and creativity of young people. That’s why he invests, not only through the development of human capacities, but also through direct financial support to most innovative ideas and startups of this generation. An example of this is the investment in the development of online site chebuoni.it, a startup which in just one year has managed to capture five markets of EU countries.
The conglomerate of companies that Shehaj leads, is also based on the philosophy of social responsibility. Agron is the founder and sponsor of several charitable organizations focusing on helping marginalized groups, children in need, youth sports, history and art.
