From the humble beginnings of selling ISLANDpeople t-shirts, Derrick developed ISLANDPeople into a party and events production powerhouse.

With events like Insomnia and Girl Power, ISLANDPeople revolutionised carnival parties in Trinidad and took themed events to the Region. Eventually Derrick and the team expanded the brand to include ISLANDPeople Mas, a sought after mas band with colourful and creative assortments of feathers, colour and detail.
