Special Guest Biography:
Josh Wright is a software developer focused on building custom applications using lean startup methodologies. In 2014, Josh joined Deren and Dagen Boyd as a co-founder and Director of Technology for iScout. iScout is an EHS SaaS which provides safety reporting and training for energy, construction, manufacturing, and other industries. The trio grew the company over a period of 7 years and in December 2020 iScout was acquired by KPA - an industry leader in EHS (backed by Providence Equity Partners).
Prior to iScout, Josh earned a Computer Science degree and Mathematics minor from the University of Oklahoma in 2007. After graduation he joined MTM Recognition for 7 years becoming a lead Senior Software Developer where he managed small teams and led various projects.
Josh also develops other apps on the side including Weather Nerd for iPhone and DraftNight.com - a web-based fantasy football draft board. Recently Josh launched the vaccine-alerts.com website which helps Oklahomans find a COVID-19 vaccine appointment. The site has over one million page views and has sent over 7 million appointment alerts since it launched in January.
Josh and his wife Jenny were married in 2007 and now have two children; a 7-year-old girl named Josie and a 5-year-old boy named Jack.
Dagen Boyd co-founded iScout, a safety and quality software designed to help manage people, processes, and equipment, and has served on the iScout leadership team since 2012. Along with partners Deren Boyd and Josh Wright, Dagen contributed to consistent growth and product improvements. iScout was acquired by KPA Services, an EHS industry leader backed by Providence Equity Partners.
Prior to iScout, Dagen was National Sales Manager for the oil & gas division of Davis Supply Company in Edmond, OK from 2013-2018. He also served as Director of Corporate Development for Crescent Services, LLC, an oilfield services company based in Oklahoma City, OK. Dagen graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Journalism in 2000 and a Masters of Adult and Higher Education in 2003.
Dagen lives in Edmond with his wife, Michelle, and their children, Crew (13), Caris (11), and Caroline (9).
Deren Boyd currently serves as the Senior Vice President of New Markets, where he is responsible for the KPA Services growth strategy and expansion into new industries. Deren also oversees the direction for KPA EHS software, with focus on innovative new feature development based on client input and market demands.
Prior to KPA, Deren co-founded iScout, a health and safety focused SaaS software with partners Dagen Boyd and Josh Wright in 2014. Previous to iScout, Deren held the position of Vice President for Safety and Compliance for the Oklahoma City based Crescent Companies from 2011-2016. Before he began his career in health and safety, Deren worked in intercollegiate athletics at the University of Oklahoma serving as Assistant Athletics Director of Development and Director of Basketball Operations from 2003-2010.
Deren graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Health & Sports Science in 1998 and a Masters in Adult and Higher Education in 2006.
Deren and his wife Monica live in Norman, Oklahoma with their four children - Breyden (19), Brody (16), Behr (14), and Neely (8).
