Bernd is a young entrepreneur, co-founder and current COO of indoo.rs. Before becoming a founder he worked as a project manager at Smart-Information-Systems, a semantic web-startup, and temporarily joined uniforce, a student consultancy. He founded indoo.rs with his former class-mate and long-time friend Markus Krainz. They got financed in a seed round by three well known austrian seed-investors and are now at expanding their already international business. By now indoor.s consists of 19 employees after almost 4 years in business. The idea was found on an 11 hour airport layover during a study trip of Bernd. It took him ages to find restaurants and the bathrooms - on an airport that was brand-new. It seemed the existing signing was not up to the task. He figured out that it should not be neccessary by today to search for signs, to then search for your aimed goal, but it should be possible to enjoy the same comfort inside a building as when navigating outdoors on the street with modern smartphones. Indoor Navigation is a high-tech area where there is quite a competition from players all over the world. Bernd will tell you about how they developed their technology, what differentiates indoo.rs from competitors and what they expect to be future trends. Besides that Bernd will share his personal experience and history on how the indoo.rs team developed in the early days until they got to funding, what major obstacles they faced and how things changed over time when they got an external CEO.
