Rami Essaid is a Syrian born American entrepreneur and software engineer, and is the founder and CEO of Distil Networks, a DC-cybersecurity startup in Bot detection and mitigation offering the first software-as-a-service solution focused on stopping automated attacks to make the web more secure.
In April 2011 he founded Distil.it along with Engin Akyol, Andrew Stein and Sean Harmer as the first 100% cloud-based website content protection network. The name of the company was later changed to Distil Networks. In December 2012, he led a round of fundraising for $1.8m and additionally added $200k in March 2013 from AngelList’s ‘Invest’ service in less than one week.
Distil Networks secured $38 million in total funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Foundry Group and TechStars' Bullet Time Ventures, ff Venture Capital, IDEA Fund Partners, and Militello Capital.
Rami attended North Carolina State University where he majored in computer engineering.
