Aike Festini and Maite Mihm are the founders of Luckabox AG, known as the Tinder of the Transport Industry. Within only six months, LuckaBox built the largest platform of truly affordable on-demand delivery services in Switzerland. In the midst of the pandemic, the company recorded an average monthly sales growth of 42% as well as a seven-figure investment.
Luckabox, a logistics startup founded by two women, takes a customer-driven approach to online shopping deliveries, connecting retailers, shoppers and independent carriers with a streamlined and flexible shared platform. The Uber-style model is easy to understand, yet innovative enough to have won the first-ever European Supply Chain Startup Contest.
The founders share more of their story at the fireside chat.
If the situation permits, we will have an in person (live) event at the Prager Dreifuss - Startup Desk office in Zurich. The fireside chat will also be livestreamed!
Festini grew up in the Austrian Bregenzerwald and studied English and journalism at the main university in Vienna. After graduating, she worked for a while in a burger bar in South Africa. Through a guest she finally found a job in project management, in 2007 she took a position as project manager and finally department head at Bwin; In 2013 he switched to the largest cable network operator in Switzerland, UPC. While working there as a department head, Festini completed her master's degree in business administration at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne. At that time, she realized for herself that in her career she had always done what she was good at, but never what she really wanted: to found a company.
Together with her colleague Maite Mihm at the time, the Austrian decided to go into business for herself. With her tech know-how and Mihm's understanding of logistics - her father owned a freight forwarding company - the idea for Luckabox was born. “We complement each other well, because Maite brings the calm I don't have,” says Festini, who, as she says herself, doesn't fear risks and challenges: she has been practicing sports such as downhill mountain biking and freeriding from an early age. “I like sports where you can't make mistakes and therefore have to be very focused in the here and now,” says the Austrian.
