German University of Technology in Oman

The history of the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) can be traced back to 2003, when visionary Omanis contemplated to establish a high quality university of technology in Oman, the first university with German collaboration in this region.

In 2007, GUtech was established in affiliation with RWTH Aachen University in Germany, one of the world’s leading technical universities and member of the elite IDEA league, a strategic partnership of five of Europe’s leading research universities, including Imperial College London, Delft University of Technology, ETH Zurich and the Paris Institute of Technology.

As a young and innovative university with a student body of just under 3,000, the University is able to deliver an education that incorporates theory and practice in an individualized setting. Rooted in Omani tradition and driven by German quality standards, GUtech has an inherently international outlook.
