Startup Grind is a global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs. It is powered by Google for Entrepreneurs. We host monthly events in 250 cities and 100 countries featuring successful local founders, innovators, educators and investors who share personal stories and lessons learned on the road to building great companies.
Startup Grind is a connected online and offline network of vibrant startup communities to help fuel innovation, economic growth and prosperity at the local level. While Startup Grind was founded in Palo Alto, California, our extended network of Startup Grind chapters are located around the world. Start a Chapter in your city or school!
We believe in making friends, not contacts. We believe in giving, not taking. We believe in helping others before helping yourself. We are truly passionate about helping founders, entrepreneurs and startups succeed. We intend to make their startup journey less lonely, more connected and more memorable.
As a serial Entrepreneur and Startup Grind Director, Minneapolis, I think it is my responsibility to promote the successful technology companies in Mpls. and the people behind the companies. I understand the exciting highs and tough lows of starting companies, creating ideas, moving them into action, and then trying to convince the world that these ideas can help their business be more successful.
With over 25 years experience in marketing, sales operations, business development, and significant involvement with startups such as Digital Concourse, Next Wave Connect, and currently, WorkOutLoud, I have a proven commitment to startup life. I have a passion for leveraging social media to foster collaboration and success, while seeding and nurturing long-term business relationships. My successful business relationships have reaped big benefits for enterprises including IBM, Microsoft, Ciber, Velocity, Infor, Cerner, Next Wave Connect, and now with WorkOutLoud.
My primary focus is on delivering value - driving business growth and market share. Having spent time in both large, highly structured organizations and smaller entrepreneurial start-ups, I have cultivated skills that enable me to contribute to a company at every level of operations.
As a key part of the Next Wave Connect start-up team that is the first healthcare industry-specific enterprise social networking application, connecting healthcare professionals and peers, of all types, from across healthcare. I developed all of the marketing and sales materials, contracts, proposals, website, videos, product pricing structure, managed all their social site and on-boarding vendor partners programs as Vice President of Sales Enablement and Operations.
Like many aspiring entrepreneurs, I’m a podcast junkie. I listen, on average, for about an hour each day. I make time for this by listening to podcasts while cooking, eating, doing laundry or tackling other mundane-but-essential tasks.
