We think about startups here through what we call the Sugar Stack ecosystem—a nod to Louisiana’s history of refining sugar. Raw ideas are like sugarcane. They need pressure, experimentation, and refinement before something valuable emerges. The early stages require a lot of grind, and real wins for a community come from people showing up, sharing ideas, testing things, and helping each other improve. That’s the spirit behind this chapter.

Startup Grind New Orleans is a safe place to experiment. Bring an idea. Bring a half-baked prototype. Bring a crazy idea you’re not sure anyone will understand. This is a place to test, fail, learn, and collaborate with open-minded, friendly people who bring a uniquely New Orleans flair to building things.

Every other Thursday we host our AI Meetup, where founders, developers, students, creatives, and the simply curious gather to explore what’s possible with artificial intelligence. Some people are deeply experienced with AI tools. Others are just starting to explore them. Both belong here. The goal is simple: learn together, share what’s working, and push ideas forward.
