About

From tobacco to textiles, banking to food products, Winston-Salem has a diverse and storied past. Today, we are rapidly developing a diverse new economy, led by our 6 institutions of higher education, our entrepreneurial ecosystem, and industry & government leaders.

The Winston-Salem Startup Grind chapter is led by Flywheel Coworking, where entrepreneurs go for community, business expertise and support, and high quality programming.

We offer 4 event types throughout the year:

Tech Slam 'N Eggs - Bobbie Shrivastav, Chief Product Officer of Benekiva, hosts this event for technologists. Over breakfast, come see a live tech demo - no powerpoints allowed!

Evolve Workshops - We invite successful founders and investors from around the country to lead workshops for growth-stage companies. These folks have been there before. They have gone through multiple rounds of funding, grown companies from just founders to dozens or hundreds of employees, and successfully exited companies.

Fireside Chats - We sit down with successful founders from NC and around the country in an intimate gathering to hear their story. How did their early life influence their start in entrepreneurship? Do they have any lessons to share?

Parties - We host two parties each year. The Summer Startup Crawl brings entrepreneurs from across the state to set up booths. Live music, food and drinks all add up to a seriously fun event. Our Holiday Party and Chili Cookoff is a great time to reflect on the year behind us while having a friendly competition: who can bring the heat?
