Ex-jugador profesional de Baloncesto entre los años 1984 y 2002, jugó en el F.C. Barcelona, Joventut de Badalona y Panathinaikos de Atenas Internacional. Jugó para el equipo olímpico 156 veces y cuenta con infinidad de títulos y reconocimientos deportivos, tanto individuales como colectivos.
Sin embargo, Ferran Martinez supo dar el salto al mundo de los negocios con éxito. Cursó estudios de programación e informática, así como análisis financiero y mercados de renta variable (CEF). Posee un E-MBA (La Salle, Universidad Ramón Llull, Barcelona, y Saint Mary 's University (San Francisco, EE.UU.)). Tras su retirada del deporte de alta competición, ha creado y ha dirigido unidades de negocio destinadas al asesoramiento y gestión de altos patrimonios de deportistas de élite y "Celebrity" en los grupos financieros UBS, Banco Sabadell, Mirabaud y Andbank.
Actualmente se ha especializado en la creación de startups tecnológicas, en los campos blockchain, Fintech, o quantum computing. Es socio y CEO de la compañía Dekaland y fundador de Globatalent (empresa blockchain de la industria del deporte). Así mismo, es socio de las empresas Entanglement Partners, consultora sobre computación cuántica, Fangazing, Lánzame Capital y World-Mastery (e-learning). Ha escrito cinco libros de "management", coaching y finanzas, y es conferenciante y coach. Colabora con la CEA (Confederación Empresarial de Andorra) como embajador económico para Estados Unidos, y asesora a la Federación de Andorra de Fútbol y al Gobierno de Andorra en temas de innovación.
Founder and CEO of SocialCar, the first platform in Spain for P2P car rental. Mar, is a benchmark in sharing economy, sustainable mobility and legality. Founding member of Sharing España and board member of ADigital. Mar supports Barcelona's tech ventures as a member of BCN Tech City's board of directors. She is also a promoter of innovation as part of the Creafutur advisory board. Graduated in Law and PDD by IESE, she began her professional career at Cuatrecasas Abogados and her social entrepreneurship interest began at Grameen Bank with Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
• Marketing & Business plans: I have worked in all the process of its execution, from the analysis of the market and research of opportunities to the elaboration of strategic actions and its implementation.
• Leadership and Management: I successfully leaded cross-functional teams to implement new business initiatives, a new CRM system, reorganise existent procedures and achieve success in projects and events (sport and sponsorship events).
• Knowledge of the APPS ECOSYSTEM: I have leaded projects to develop mobile apps from its idea, design, contents, programming development and launch (e.g.: BCNQuiz).
• Digital commerce knowledge: Integrate on-line (Adwords, Facebook ads,...) and traditional media to reach target audience. Strong grasp of digital commerce and social network trends.
• 4 Languages: I fluently speak four languages since I have been living and working abroad: Spanish, English, Italian and Catalan. I also have basic French.
Specialities: Experience in marketing (Master’s Degree in 2007), sport management (Master’s degree in Sport Management and Direction in 2009), planning, event management and marketing, budget management, product and services launches, integrated campaigns, social media/ online marketing, good communicator, leadership and teamwork skills.

MarsBased is a 20-people full-remote development consultancy from Barcelona specialised in web and mobile applications developed with Ruby on Rails and Javascript frameworks. Àlex runs the sales/marketing area and is in charge of communications & growth of the company. His background in consulting & development (ex-Deloitte, ex-VASS) and his international profile helps him with the technical and the business perspective. His experience with volunteering (over 5 years at ESN) have helped him to build one of the strongest communities in Barcelona through Startup Grind, events for developers, curating Startup Digest, and managing a Slack community for entrepreneurs and startups in Barcelona.
