After more than 20 years of experience at Damm, in 2016 Laura Gil assumed the role of Director of Digital Transformation, to take advantage of her expertise across different areas, one of the key points for pushing this endeavour forward successfully.
Her main goal is to involve the entire company into the digital transformation and encourage the intrapreneurship, promoting self-training and multidisciplinary and multigenerational teams. That’s how Damm is achieving the new paradigm: not only understanding what happened in the past, but being able to anticipate what will happen in the next future.

“Normal gets you nowhere” is my motto turned lifestyle; I like to push my own boundaries and make others go beyond their comfort zone.
I’ve lived in 4 different countries, spending extended periods of time between London, the Mediterranean and Silicon Valley. These experiences have shaped my definition of innovation.
I believe in value generation via open collaboration between startups and corporates and amongst employees themselves so as to solve problems and capture new opportunities.
Working at the world’s largest food and beverage company gets me the privilege to touch millions of consumers’ life, but also the pressure to serve them with products they love.
My mission is help our employees unlock their potential and turn their most creative and wildest ideas into viable propositions.

Inspiring movement through innovation for a Sound Mind in a Sound Body.
I believe that by using innovation to develop disrupting products and services we can make the world a better place. It inspires me to impact society’s well-being with the fusion of sports and technology.
Change is happening at an accelerating pace; consumer demand is shifting at high speed and is far from being a commodity or a given fact. Nevertheless, a lot of corporations still sit back with their old, well tested and apparently “bulletproof” business models - they might be soon lagging behind and will most probably not exist anymore in a meaningful way within the next decade.
It´s time for an approach which reflects this new reality
It´s time to take a decision: You want to be a disrupter or the disrupted?
It´s time for new business and collaboration models between startups and corporations
I´m passionate about working hand in hand with entrepreneurs from all around the world to combine their creative spirit and drive with the scale and expertise of a corporation to grow projects that will move people across the world.
Apart from my work at the ASICS TENKAN-TEN Sports & Well-Being Growth Catalyst where we combine the startup founders’ drive and energy with the expertise, resources and reach of a large global corporation I’ve honed my skills working for some of the best sports lifestyle corporations.
In the past decade at VF Corporation, Quiksilver and ASICS I repeatedly led and successfully implemented New Business & Innovation ideas for projects, services and processes.
Developing creative strategies and transforming them into tangible and measurable
results comes naturally to me. I achieve this by following one simple rule:

to me innovation is having your head in the clouds and keeping your feet on the ground ... at the same time. engaged employees are key to success. i have a proven track record in the field of innovation and employee engagement. i am not afraid to take up big challenges and get shit done
i build innovation and/or employee engagement capabilities in an organisation, tailor made to the specific needs and context. i am a speaker on topics such as innovation, employee engagement, and turning deadlock situations into a success. and i am a woman in tech, whatever that means, but i can talk about that as well
i challenge the status quo. people say i am a maverick. i am hands on, curious & creative. i dare and i do. i am not afraid to fail and very eager to learn. i like to have fun and do cool stuff. i care for others and i love to inspire. i always look for win-win solutions. i have a guilty pleasure for data. tech & people fascinate me. and oh, i am not very good at bla bla, but so much better in getting things done
I’m a passionate builder with experience in startup creation, lean enterprise, and corporate innovation.
My main focus area is understanding how corporations and newly born companies innovate in today’s constantly changing and challenging environment. Comprehending adjacent and disruptive concepts and business models is necessary, but discovering how they can shake up or be embraced within existing corporate is a great challenge for all corporates at scale.
