Victor Horcasitas helps tech startups with cross border capital raising and go-to-market strategies for Latam, US and Europe. Victor has over 20 years of experience spanning M&A, software engineering, import/export finance, international business development and project management. Sector coverage includes IoT, AR/VR, SaaS, medical devices, eHealth, AgTech, robotics, telecom, FinTech, PropTech, renewable energies and commercial real estate.
Victor is a partner in Confianz Capital which focuses on mid-market European M&A transactions with a focus on telecom, media and technology opportunities. Victor’s most recent acquisition in January 2019 is of a Barcelona based media publication which generates and curates content to a niche target in Spain. He leads a team which is transforming a monthly print publication into the country’s leading digital magazine for expats.
Victor co-founded Confianz International, an import-export company focused on the supply and distribution of industrial machinery and chemicals, construction equipment, food, raw materials and other sectors. Victor structures transactions for products from the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia, as well as advising companies on new market penetration and product market fit.
In 2002 Victor co-founded Trinity Advisers, a boutique firm providing consulting services to clients in the telecoms, media, renewable energy and IT sectors. Victor leads Trinity Advisers’ business development efforts in the Iberian, African and Latin American regions. Transaction and advisory experience includes both buy-side and sell-side mandates in sectors spanning the fixed line, mobile/GSM, and satellite services sectors as well as capital-raising for early stage and late venture organizations.
Victor co-founded Communications Investment Partners Limited (CIP), which in December 2007 acquired Stratos Global Corporation for EUR 620 million. Previously he worked at HP, NasTech, Deloitte & Touche, Federal Reserve.
Victor currently volunteers as President of the American Society of Barcelona, leads fund raising for the Donation & Transplant Institute, Chairman of the Navy League of the United States and is a non-executive director in 11 early stage companies. Victor also supports various organizations helping to foment Barcelona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as Startup Grind, EU Startup Summit, Tech Stars and Barcelona Startup week.
Victor holds a MSc from Johns Hopkins University and a BBS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Horcasitas speaks fluently in English, Spanish Catalan and conversational French.
